The Podcast

The story of human history is the sum of the stories of individuals. In the literary series How I Wrote This, creator Pamela Hensley sits down with acclaimed novelists, essayists, playwrights, translators, and poets to learn more about their lives and the events that shaped their work. Season 2 features writers based in Berlin (or inspired by it). They include: Julia Franck, Ivana Sajko, Jonathan Garfinkel, Andrea Wulf, Jenny Erpenbeck, Behzad Karim Khani, Wiebke von Carolsfeld, and Shaena Lambert. Season 1 featured Montreal-based authors Heather O’Neill, Anita Rau Badami, Mikhail Iossel, Sean Michaels, Baharan Baniahmadi, Kim Thúy, Neil Smith, H. Nigel Thomas, and Michelle Syba. Season 3 is currently in production and will feature authors based in Brooklyn, USA.

The Host

Pamela Hensley is a writer and the Managing Editor of yolk literary journal. Previously she worked as an automotive engineer and management consultant in Germany, Japan, the US, and Canada.
